Rebecca Quarles, a Richland High School senior and daughter of Ricky & Liz Quarles, has been awarded the first annual RHS Community Scholarship sponsored by J.A. Moss Construction Company, Inc. At Richland High School, Rebecca was Excel Club President, Projects Officer for the Beta Club, RHS Student of the Month for two consecutive years and a major in JROTC. Very active in her community, Rebecca is a member of the Rankin Youth Leadership Class of 2002 and holds a position on the Mayor's Youth Council. She attended the 2003 Congressional Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C. and was an outstanding delegate in the Model U.N. Security Council for two consecutive years. Rebecca is a member of First Baptist Church of Richland. She will attend Mississippi University for Women this fall, majoring in education with an emphasis in history. She participated in this year's golf event on Thursday, May 29, 2003. This golf scramble funded the 2004 scholarship.
